GRANTS AND FUNDRAISING SPECIALIST– Hourly Non-Exempt

SUMMARY 

The Grants and Fundraising Specialist position provides direct support to meet the organization’s development and fundraising goals. This position is responsible for finding and completing applications for funding, including the applications to foundations, trusts or government. This position is also responsible for generating grant and donor reports for strategic planning and budgeting. This position is responsible for assisting in the planning and execution of fundraising events. This is a full-time position with benefits and the potential for a hybrid schedule opportunity after January 1st and a 90 day review, that reports directly to the Director of Development. Position requires occasional evening and weekend hours availability. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 

  • A minimum of 2 years of grant writing experience, preferably for nonprofits.  

  • Office support skills/clerical skills, basic computer skills including all Microsoft suite applications. 

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. 

  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize work and meet regular deadlines. 

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, able to work independently but comfortable working with a team.  

  • Valid Driver's License, proof of liability insurance and reliable personal transportation needed. 

  •  Proven track record of generating donations and funds from a variety of sources  

  •  Experience with successful grant proposals and reports. 

  • Ability to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.  

  • Grant and donor database management skills (Preferred).  

  • Knowledge of grant funding policies and procedures and applicable local, state and federal regulations.  

  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  1. Work with the Development team to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to meet and exceed fundraising goals.  

  1. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and grant-making organizations.  

  1. Write compelling grant proposals and funding applications, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and donor requirements.  

  1. Maintain grant award and reporting database by entering donor information in a timely and consistent manner. This will be reported monthly. (Donor information includes, donor contact, grant amounts, frequency, grant specifics IE: submission deadlines, criteria eligibility, required documentation, and mission alignment research.) 

  1. Assist in event planning, promoting, and execution.  

  1. Specific event activities include but are not limited to, securing sponsors and vendors, coordinating the mailing of invitations, processing event revenue, planning event logistics, recruiting event volunteers, and follow-up engagement with attendees and sponsors. 

  1. Attending event planning meetings, staff meetings and regular meetings as assigned.  

  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, volunteers, and community partners, to support fundraising efforts. 

  1.  Develops and maintains a library of reference documentation, including information to funding agency requirements, forms and profiles. and other pertinent material. 

  1.  Facilitates and supports the research and identification of funding opportunities. 

  1. Maintains current knowledge of grant funding policies, regulations, and procedures.  

  1. Prepares and compiles all components of each grant submission, ensuring that the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting agency requirements. 

  1.  Carry out all other duties as assigned by the Director of Development and other senior staff members. 

  1. Responsible for adhering to all policy and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and other departmental procedure manuals. 

ACCOUNTABILITY: The Grants and Fundraising Specialist position reports directly to the Director of Development.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Salary: $45,000 - $ 50,000
